Are you looking for a great park in Hendricks County where you can spend some quality time with your family and have some fun? Luckily, there are wonderful options available to you! In this post I will share three of my favorite parks, and why they have made the short list!

Arbuckle Acres

Arbuckle Acres is located in Brownsburg, and is definitely at the top of the list for my family! It has a wonderful playground for kids of all ages, including a tiny tots area that has the absolute cutest play structures! They have a little farmer's market play structure as well as a fire station/fire truck play structure.  The fire truck is my boys' favorite part to play on! We even incorporated this area of the playground for my little boy's first birthday photos. It's seriously THAT cute!

White Lick Creek is my boys' second favorite feature of this park. With the upgraded hardscaping the park just completed, there is incredibly easy access to be able to get right in the creek for some fun creek stomping! Not to mention it's absolutely gorgeous!

Arbuckle Acres also features a 1 mile paved walking path, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, wide open green space for various activities, and has numerous shelters available for rent.

This was also the location of my 2025 Watermelon Mini Session, which was so much fun!

Williams Park

Williams Park is another favorite park of my family's here in Brownsburg. It has the famous Blast Off Playground, as well as a smaller playground in the back of the park. It has a great community splash pad that my boys always enjoy cooling off in on a hot day. We could spend a whole day at Williams Park going back and forth between the playgrounds and the splash pad!

Williams Park also offers basketball courts, large green spaces, and a wooded trail.

There are shelters available for rent for get togethers and parties, and a paved path around the perimeter of the park that is great for walking or bike rides. There truly is something for everyone at Williams Park!

Don't forget to check out the recent addition of the outdoor classroom located at the end of Alpha Street, or accessible from the trails at Willams Park.  It has a cute chalkboard set up with wood tables and tree stumps for seating, a wooden stage area for some fun imaginative play, and a little community garden with seasonal flowers.

Washington township Park

Washington Township Park is located in Avon, Indiana. It has a huge playground at the front of the park that is great for kids of all ages. They recently did some updates in the area designated for little ones, and it so nice! I always love when there's a designated play area for smaller children, especially in the busy summer months. There are multiple little play structures that have interactive features for little ones to engage with. There is even a nature play area that has logs and rocks that kids can climb and practice their balancing skills on, or do what my boys prefer to do- use it as fun space for their monster trucks!

The park also features sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis courts, trails, and a splash pad. There is a frisbee golf course, as well as many different shelters available for rent.

The park also offers summer camps for kids. So be sure to check those out if you'e looking for something fun for you kids to do during summer break!

Fun fact: my mom and stepdad had their small and intimate wedding ceremony at one of the shelters at Washington Township Park in the fall of 2020.
